India and Bangladesh’s rivalry has provided many riveting matches that have left fans gasping for breath, with both sides providing some memorable performances to contribute to cricket’s timeless charm.

Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto of Bangladesh have taken to the crease while Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya bowl for India. In this article, we will discuss about the matches of Bangladesh national cricket team vs india national cricket team match scorecard.

India vs Bangladesh

India won by 50 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in their Super 8s series against Bangladesh. India’s bowlers put in an outstanding performance as they restricted Bangladesh to just 146/8 in 20 overs; Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten fifty and valuable contributions came from Rishabh Pant (36), Virat Kohli (37) and Shivam Dube (34) at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound Antigua.

Bangladesh opened their innings with twin spinners from both ends, an aggressive approach against Rohit and Kohli who prefer pace over orthodox hitting, yet this gamble did not pay off; both Rohit and Towhid Hridoy were caught off Tanzim Hasan within one over, first off luring Rohit into going for a sweep but was caught at deep square leg, followed by trapping Towhid Hridoy just in front of stumps when his attempted sweep mistimed itself.

The openers struggled with slow pitches with lots of bounce and it wasn’t until nearing the end of the powerplay that they began to find their footing, when Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel asserted themselves with some tight bowling to take control of the innings.

Bumrah opened with a high full toss that Pant attempted to pull, only for it to miss by inches. Pant tried for another cut shot which hit his pads instead, prompting a desperate run back attempt which was ultimately stopped by wicketkeeper at short midwicket.

Axar makes his mark immediately upon entering, taking out Tanzim in one ball by bowling him as he attempted a quick slog sweep but failed to connect properly with it and was bowled by Axar’s delivery.

India quickly took control of the game through an explosive partnership between Rishabh Pant and Kohli that yielded 92 runs in 10 overs, before Pant was benched for Sanju Samson who scored 37 in those last 10 overs as Bangladesh caved under pressure.

Bangladesh edged India out in their last T20I match at this same venue by just one run back in 2016. They have not managed a victory against India in this format in their previous nine attempts, so will hope to improve on that record against them and try and qualify for the semi-finals – although an uphill task for Bangladesh as they must beat all three top teams from their group to have any chance.

India responded quickly by upping their scoring with some stunning stroke play from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, with Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah both performing outstandingly as bowlers.

As the match progressed, both teams showed excellent fielding abilities – with outstanding catches and run-outs by both sides – yet Bangladesh’s lack of momentum ultimately proved costly, as they failed to chase down India’s challenging total of 474 runs.

India easily won the match and advanced to the semi-finals, marking Bangladesh’s final appearance at this edition of the tournament.
